In augustus beginnen de dansers met repeteren voor DANSLOKAAL 7 met de nieuwe makers. Adi Amit danste al in vijf edities van dit talentontwikkelingstraject. Hoe is het eigenlijk voor een danser om mee te werken aan DANSLOKAAL?
Adi danste al mee in de allereerste editie van DANSLOKAAL. Tussendoor heeft zij enkel de vierde en vijfde editie gemist in verband met de geboorte van haar dochter Asif. We vroegen Adi naar haar ervaring; wat is typisch voor DANSLOKAAL en wat is er leuk aan als danser?
After summer you’ll start working in your fifth edition of DANSLOKAAL. What’s your favourite thing about DANSLOKAAL?
“What I like about DANSLOKAAL is that it really gives you a lot of information and inspiration to take with you to the rest of the year, because it’s so enriching. In DANSLOKAAL you get a chance to work together in a different setting compared to what we are used to in the main group with Conny.

What is, according to you, typical for working in DANSLOKAAL?
Each time you experience new ideas and a new way of working with the specific choreographer. You can feel that something very fresh is coming in with the new choreographers. And I like that in DANSLOKAAL we work in smaller groups, so it’s an intimate setting. You get a chance to show yourself in a completely different color every edition.

So, what I like most about DANSLOKAAL is the smaller scale, the fact that it’s more intimate, and completely different from what we normally do. It’s exciting because you don’t know what to expect and you have to be very open minded for it. It’s a very joyful project!”
