The same year he premiered with HARY +++++ at the Nederlandse Dansdagen in Maastricht in the context of a project called (OLD)Fashion(ed). The project has been selected as one of the exemplary projects for The Art of Impact, the new programme from the Dutch Ministry of Education, Culture and Science and six public funding bodies for culture.
Most recently Dario Tortorelli have been researching on several concepts that commonly shares the state of transformation calling the project D NO BODY; a retrospective study on the character of ROMEO HEART.
‘Tortorelli onderscheidt zich met dit werk nu al van andere choreografen en maakt zeker nieuwsgierig naar meer.’
Dario about being a choreographer:
‘For me, choreographing is celebrating the creative mind by dressing the body with theatrical forces.
Rethink and manipulate reality in time and space.
Visualize materializing at best your visions of an unreachable perfection.‘
Dario about Conny Janssen Danst’s talent development project DANSLOKAAL:
‘I have been part of the first edition of Danslokaal in 2013 with AFTER NEARLY LAND(e)scaping, a piece for seven dancers. This time I will work with one or maybe two dancers; it will be a more intimate and personal work. And it is a great chance to work again with the same people and see how we can bring the work even further then last time. I am also very curious to see how the audience of Danslokaal will respond to my work now. I definitely take this coming back as a positive proof of evolution in my artistic development.’
