25 & 26 March ’23: Workshop Zino & Barbara

The choreographers

Zino Schat (1989, Amsterdam) started his theater career as a performer with dance companies AYA and Solid Ground Movement. Later in his career he developed a deeper interest in choreography. He made work for Dutch National Opera and the Nederlands Blazers Ensemble. In addition, Schat is the founder of his own company Fractal Dance Collective.

Barbara Minacori (1996, Palermo) studied dance at Balletto di Toscana in Florence and completed her study at Codarts School of the Arts. After her studies she gained experience at the Rotterdam Scapino Ballet and the Dart dance company in Budapest.

About the workshop

Zino and Barbara offer an extensive workshop with a focus on floorwork and acro, with influences from breaking and contemporary dance. Their approach expands movement usage and includes aspects of breaking into modern movement language. 360° Orientation is an in-depth analysis of using breaking as a tool to enlarge the vocabulary. This method helps to improve the relationship with the floor and space and creatively enriches the movement language.

During these two days they offer:

• Movement games to develop physical alertness and increase the connection between bodies
• Guided improvisation to awaken awareness and challenge body habits
• Exploring different tools into composition
• Softness into floorwork
• Dance repetoire
