Workshop description: ‘’Equilibrium of Bodies’’
In the workshop ‘’Equilibrium of Bodies’’ dancers will be invited to explore symbiotic relations*.
Winston about the workshop:
“I find connections to symbiosis through intertwining stories, composition to a certain space, support, and relation to others. The first phase of equilibrium is within the dancer’s body. We will investigate how our body reacts, echo’s and communicates within itself through a guided improvisation. In the second phase of equilibrium, we will further explore how we can communicate with each other by playing with composition and timing. The third phase of equilibrium at the end of the day will explore intertwining partnerships. Finding common ground or finding our differences in ongoing communication with each other.”

Bio:
Winston Ricardo Arnon (1984), born in Suriname, graduated from the Amsterdam University of the Arts. He danced with the companies Conny Janssen Danst & Ballett Bühnen Bern. Further projects as a dancer brought him to Sally Dansgezelschap Maastricht, Dansateliers Rotterdam, Korzo Den Haag, Marcel Leemann Physical Dance Theater & Cie. La Ronde. During his career he collaborated with various choreographers in works of: Antonin Comestaz, Antonio de Rosa & Mattia Russo, Conny Janssen, Estefania Miranda, Etienne Bechard, Felix Landerer, Guy Nader & Maria Campos, Guy Weizman & Roni Haver, Ihsan Rustem, Ivgi & Greben, Jan Martens, Jo Stromgren, Koen Augustijnen, Marcel Leeman, Nanine Linning, Po Cheng Tsai, Ronald Wintjens & Stefan Ernts, Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui, Sharon Eyal and Tabea Martin. Parallel to his dance career, he produced numerous in-company pieces and in collaboration with other institutions. He currently works as a choreographer, dancer, rehearsal director, advisor for Het Fonds Podiumkunsten and jury member of the Swiss Performing Arts Awards. Through it all, Winston has a heart for teaching. He teaches at various cultural- and educational institutions at both professional and semi-professional levels.
