About the workshops

About Remy’s workshop:
During his workshop, you will work on his repertoire and movement research. Remy has his own movement language, focused on deconstructing and misforming shapes and foundations. This requires imagination, musicality, muscularity, and softness. Remy’s priority is teaching a clear and strong physical base while leaving space for interpretation and new possibilities. In the end, it all comes down to celebrating dance.

Evelien about her workshop:
“This intensive invites you to immerse yourself in the power of imagination and develop full-body awareness through organic, dynamic, and rhythmic movement. Through guided improvisation, we will explore a wide range of techniques and movement qualities, with imagination as the driving force to unlock new possibilities and deepen the connection to the body. Together, we will shape this exploration into structured material: working with compositions, refining movement textures, and challenging ourselves creatively. In the process, we will uncover the complexity within simplicity.”

About the Choreographers

Remy Tilburg (1989) is a dancer, choreographer, model, and photographer. In 2015, he graduated in Urban Contemporary (JMD) from the Amsterdam University of the Arts, where he developed his artistic voice in contemporary dance.

Since 2014, Remy has been dancing with Conny Janssen Danst, where he has developed into one of the defining dancers of the company. In 2021, he won the NDT Partner Award at the Rotterdam International Duet Choreography Competition (RIDCC), together with Emma Evelein, for their duet Fifty-one/Fourty-nine. He has taught at the NDT Summer Intensive and shadowed the creative process of Figures in Extinction by Crystal Pite. That same year, he received the Incentive Prize from Dansersfonds ’79 for his solo Cotton Mind, created for Conny Janssen Danst’s solo program Monuments in Solitude.

Remy has since expanded his choreographic work, creating pieces for students of Fontys and the Amsterdam University of the Arts, as well as music videos for artists including Eurovision Song Contest participant Jeangu Macrooy. Together with his partner Robin Kroes, he founded IIDcompany, focusing on the development of individuality and identity in dance. With IIDcompany, he created his debut performance HearMe – The Soul of Dominique and later Flamingo for the German state theatre Theater Trier.

Evelien Jansen (1998) is a Dutch dancer, teacher, and emerging choreographer. She graduated from the Amsterdam Academy of Theatre and Dance (Urban Contemporary) and began her career with Hofesh Shechter Company II. With the company, she worked on productions including Political Mother: The Choreographer’s Cut, the feature film En Corps by Cédric Klapisch, and The Final Cut, directed by Hofesh Shechter.

After her time with Humanhood and Komoco (Sofia Nappi), Evelien established herself as a freelance dancer in the Netherlands, collaborating with artists such as Faizah Grootens, Anne Suurendonk, Dalton Jansen, Ruben Chi, and Jasper van Luijk.

She has also worked as a rehearsal director with Nicole Beutler Projects and teaches at companies and educational institutions both in the Netherlands and abroad. In her classes, she develops her own movement language: organic, dynamic, and rhythmic, with a strong focus on full-body totality. Emotion and honesty are at the core of her work, both as a creator and performer.
