From May 6 to 9, NEXT | The Error of Being, the latest work by talented mid-career maker Tú Hoàng, can be seen at Plein in Fenix. On Saturday afternoon, May 9, the program opens with a public rehearsal of Autumn Scent, a duet he developed at production house Korzo, followed by the performance of the duet itself.
Thu Hương (Autumn Scent) is a moving tribute to mothers and the power of femininity. Inspired by Vietnamese traditions and the Mother Goddess belief in Đạo Mẫu, recognizable gestures merge with contemporary dance. The performance tells of motherly love, memory, and life between two cultures, in which connection and heritage form an enduring source of strength.
Where stories about migration and identity converge in Fenix, Autumn Scent reflects how memory, motherly love, and cultural roots can offer stability between different worlds.
During the public rehearsal at Plein choreographer Tú Hoàng and the two dancers – Tuan Tran and Isabel Nguyen Dao – will prepare for the performance of the duet. Watch as movement emerges, choices are made, and the duet comes to life step by step.
