Conny Janssen Danst provides opportunities for young talent through DANSLOKAAL, the talent development project where young artists are invited to develop new work together with the dancers of Conny Janssen Danst. In its annual DANSLOKAAL the dance company opens its doors to a varied group of creative artists.
For each event artistic director Conny Janssen selects promising choreographers with diverse backgrounds in collaboration with Dansateliers and Korzo. The contributors to DANSLOKAAL 13 are:

In DANSLOKAAL they get the opportunity to work on the development of their own signature within the professional context of the company. The result is a surprising dance evening with three new pieces, created for and with the dancers of Conny Janssen Danst.

Faizah Grootens brings a unique and powerful perspective to the stage. Inspired by her Curaçaoan and Caribbean background, she intertwines a variety of dance styles and turns them into a distinctive signature, full of rhythm, intensity and eloquence. She creates choreographies that touch, excite, and continue to fascinate you. Sheree is a storyteller pur sang. She captures personal stories with strength and gives a voice to the people. With a strong vision, she highlights histories that, ever so often, remain underexposed; she, effortlessly, connects past, present and future. With his catchy work, Andrea has his own style in which humour and communication play significant roles. Not only communication between the dancers; his work is also a dialogue with the audience. After three performances in the intimate setting of HUIS Conny Janssen Danst in Rotterdam, DANSLOKAAL 13 will premiere nationally on Friday 3 October 2025 during the Nederlandse Dansdagen. The performance will then tour various theatres until 15 November. This gives the loyal audience of Conny Janssen Danst the opportunity to become acquainted with the work of these young, up-and-coming choreographers, who in turn can bring their work to national attention.
Dansateliers and Korzo are the creative partners in DANSLOKAAL 13.
