Conny Janssen Danst provides opportunities for young talent through DANSLOKAAL, the talent development project where young artists are invited to develop new work together with the dancers of Conny Janssen Danst. In its annual DANSLOKAAL the dance company opens its doors to a varied group of creative artists.
For each event artistic director Conny Janssen selects promising choreographers with diverse backgrounds in collaboration with Dansateliers and Korzo. The contributors to DANSLOKAAL 13 are:

In DANSLOKAAL they get the opportunity to work on the development of their own signature within the professional context of the company. The result is a surprising dance evening with three new pieces, created for and with the dancers of Conny Janssen Danst.

In AQUÍ NADA MÁS (Nothing but here) four people are waiting. An easy task it seems. But while the time passes, bodies get restless, priorities shift, minds go running and relationships get tense. The only task is to be here. How hard can it be?
Sheree Lenting (Dansateliers) — SONS OF THE SOIL
A poetic meeting of strength and softness: choreographer Sheree Lenting explores brotherhood, vulnerability and resilience set against the echoes of colonial history. She weaves movement, music and text into a landscape of rituals, memories and unspoken connections. In SONS OF THE SOIL two young men take us on a journey into adulthood. Rather than explaining masculinity from within, the work invites us to witness its complexity, beauty and layered nature.
Andrea Costanzo Martini (Conny Janssen Danst) — DANCEPLAINING
What if the fragile and complicated power dynamics between dancers and a choreographer are revealed during a show? Andrea Costanzo Martini blurs the line between fiction and reality through an imaginary alter ego directing the performers. Together with the dancers he embarks on an absurd journey meeting scenarios of beauty, control, struggle, passion and revenge. A physical melodrama based on many true stories.
After two performances in the intimate setting of HUIS Conny Janssen Danst in Rotterdam, DANSLOKAAL 13 will premiere nationally on Satruday 4 October 2025 during the Nederlandse Dansdagen. The performance will then tour various theatres until 15 November. This gives the loyal audience of Conny Janssen Danst the opportunity to become acquainted with the work of these young, up-and-coming choreographers, who in turn can bring their work to national attention.
