The jury of Het Dansersfonds ’79 on Yanaika Holle:

“There are some dancers who, the moment they step onto the stage, immediately command your attention. Yanaika Holle – who has been with Conny Janssen Danst since 1999—is one such dancer. It is difficult to pinpoint exactly what it is that makes her so compelling. It certainly lies in her distinct individuality and her striking presence, as well as the beautiful, long lines of her physique and her movement. Yet, there is something more – something indefinable—that allows her to touch the audience time and time again.

Yanaika’s performances reveal that she approaches every role as if it were entirely new; she immerses herself completely, constantly exploring how to reveal her most authentic self within the specific themes and movement vocabulary of a given production. Or, as her artistic director, Conny Janssen, so aptly puts it: “Whether she is an individual standing apart from the crowd, or a part of that crowd, Yanaika breathes and flows in perfect harmony with the piece we are creating. It is impossible not to notice her. She is always fully present, and she always resonates with the audience.”

The entire team at Conny Janssen Danst is incredibly proud of Yanaika. She is honored to receive this prestigious award during the 28th Dutch Ballet Gala, taking place on Monday, November 2nd, at the Stadsschouwburg Amsterdam. Would you like to attend?
