On Thursday afternoon, April 24, 2025, the Friends of Conny Janssen Danst and the friends of De Doelen were welcomed to a public rehearsal for Symphony of Sorrowful Songs. In this performance, the orchestra of Sinfonia Rotterdam and the dancers brought music and dance together in a rendition of Górecki’s charged Symphony of Sorrowful Songs.
Conny Janssen and Conrad van Alphen (conductor of Sinfonia Rotterdam) welcomed the Friends this afternoon in the main hall of De Doelen and talked about the creation process. On stage, we saw the musicians of Sinfonia Rotterdam, soprano soloist Ewa Tracz and the dancers dotting the i’s and crossing the t’s before the performance was performed for the last time that evening. An intimate and inspiring preview!
Enjoyed this rehearsal very much. Beautiful music, very beautiful soprano and the combination with the dancers makes it extra beautiful. Nice to see how such a performance is prepared down to the smallest detail.
