About Thalia’s Ballet Class
The class includes some contemporary ideas that help soften the body while getting it ready, warm and aware. The class balances effort and lightness, providing a time to refine technique while consciously exploring ballet with imagery, expansion and fantasy.
Bio
Thalia was born in North Vancouver, Canada and became highly interested in classical ballet around the age of ten. Her passion eventually brought her to Toronto, Ontario where she studied at Canada’s National Ballet School. In her final school year, she had the opportunity to guest with the National Ballet of Canada and SemperOper in Dresden, Germany performing ballets such as The Nutcracker, La Bayadere, and Sleeping Beauty. While she was in Europe, she auditioned for the Nederlands Dans Theater and started with NDT2 in August 2016. She spent eight years at NDT, a period marked by meeting profound and inspiring people, a journey of discovery through countless moments in the studio and on stage, and what it can mean to create and give oneself through dance. After leaving the company in 2024, she began freelancing where all of this continues to evolve and deepen her work.
