Robin Nimanong

Robin Nimanong

Teacher Contemporary

Robin (They/Them) danced with Batshevas Ensemble; worked with Ohad Naharin, Sharon Eyal and Roy Assaf and was a certified gaga teacher for three years. Currently, Robin is teaching their own method named: I-AM (improvisation, awareness and movement), nourished by their experience as freelance dancer. Robin worked with: Marina Abramovic, Ivgi&Greben, Dries Verhoeven, VisaVis and Nicole Beutler. Since 2021 Robin is also a maker and producer supported by ICK’s Artist Space.

About the class:
Nimanong is researching their previous work experience with Marina Abramovic and is also discovering and developing themself within the ballroom scene in the Netherlands. Their main focus is Vogue-Femme. This broad interest, interconnected with queer-identity and queer-theory, will be used for their personal research where internal meditation, silence and subtext coexist with externalized energy, feeling, presentation and forms.

Tip:
The 13th of December you can see a preview of their new work in WORM, Rotterdam, FOOLS: an interdisciplinary collaboration between Nimanong, Ballroom Artists (Deion, Gato, Sugah), Guenter Raler and Eva Marie-Louise.
