Dimo Kirilov Milev

Dimo about his ballet class: “While teaching a ballet class I am looking to activate the muscles with softness and constant movement, opening the joints, making space in the body to allow it to expand and move freely and efficiently.”

Dimo about his contemporary class: “During the class we explore the coherence between body and mind, where awareness and movement merge into one continuous flow. Through conscious, full-body work and refined use of body mechanics, we develop efficiency, fluidity, and expressive clarity. By learning to release tension, balance energy, and apply adequate force, dancers cultivate an organic physical language — grounded, articulate, and open to endless possibilities. The practice encourages softness within strength, expanding physical and creative potential while maintaining a healthy and sustainable approach.”

Bio:
Born in Bulgaria, Dimo Kirilov Milev has danced with companies such as the National Opera of Sofia, Jeunne Ballet de France, as a soloist in Ballet National de Nancy et Lorraine, and as a principal dancer at Compañia Nacional de Danza under the visionary direction of Nacho Duato. Since becoming a freelance artist in 2009, Dimo has gained recognition as a choreographer. His works “1/2 Waltz” (with Gentian Doda) and “Aimless” won multiple awards, including first prizes in Copenhagen, Hannover, and Burgos. He has created pieces for T.H.E Dance Company (Singapore), Compañia Nacional de Danza, Landerer& Company, Bolshoi Ballet, NDT2 and for his own independent projects
Currently, Dimo continues to thrive as a choreographer, teacher, and assistant, sharing his artistry and inspiring the next generation of dancers.
