Merel Lammers
Docent Contemporary
Merel Lammers’ class will consist of guided improvisation and exercises using imagery following specific tasks to explore the possibilities of one’s own physicality, the joy of moving, connection to music and embodiment of a broad range of movement qualities. You will learn short phrases to try to embody everything we practise during the improvisation.
Bio
Merel studied at the modern dance department of the Theaterschool Amsterdam from 2006-2010. She danced with Conny Jansen Danst (The Netherlands), Project Sally (The Netherlands) and Scapino Ballet (The Netherlands) before joining the Hofesh Shechter Company (UK) as a fulltime dancer in 2012 until 2019. There she toured internationally and taught numerous classes and workshops of the work of Hofesh Shechter.
Currently she is re-staging Hofesh Shechter’ repertoire & teaching classes at GöteborgsOperans Danskompani, Skånes, Acadamy of Theatre and Dance Amsterdam, Codarts, and others.
